About AwesomeGang

Since 2011, AwesomeGang has been a place where authors and readers meet.

It all started when I wrote a not-so-great book using PLR content and tried to promote it. Back then, most book promo sites required 10 reviews just to get listed, and mine didn’t make the cut. Every site rejected me. So I said, “I can build my own,” and I did.

I had the domain AwesomeGang.com sitting around. Originally, it was meant to be a MySpace-style group site for my friends. Instead, it became something more. A site built by an author, for authors.

With my SEO background and a lot of late nights, the site started growing. In October 2012, just as Hurricane Sandy put eight feet of water through our house, AwesomeGang took off. We couldn’t find food or shelter, but I was more worried about the hundreds of book submissions rolling in every day. Thankfully, my daughter-in-law Liz logged in and handled everything while we got back on our feet.

Since then, we’ve handled over 100,000 book submissions from tens of thousands of authors. Some have been with us since the very beginning. From new writers publishing their first book to seasoned authors launching a new series, AwesomeGang has become a trusted stop on the book marketing journey.

We later added author interviews to give writers more than just another “Buy my book” post. It gave them a chance to proudly say, “I’ve been featured.”

From day one, I never wanted to hurt a new author’s wallet. That’s why a Featured Book listing on AwesomeGang is only $10. I’m always thinking about the author just starting out without a big budget — because I was one of them once.
